Born in the Netherlands, Maarten grew up in a middle-class family, studied computer sciences at the Hogeschool in Eindhoven and the age of 26 came to the United States. For the last 20 years, Maarten has been active as a software architect designing and implementing business rules management systems for many of the fortune 500. During the last 15 years of that period, he also focused on building a financial catch net. In 2014, that effort allowed Maarten to resign from his long-time employer to focus on writing his first book on how to become a millionaire.
